A CHANCE...

Once,
I used to live in the dark,
A flicker of light,
Came stealing in,
I closed my eyes,
And it’s gone,
I bit my lips,
And moved on.

Then,
I stayed in the dark,
A shot of light,
Came washing in,
Too strong, too bright,
I closed my eyes,
Willed it away,
And it’s gone,
I bit my lips,
And moved on.

Now,
I’m no longer in the dark,
As a stray of light,
Comes shining in,
My eyes refuse to close,
The light stays there,
Shining bright,
Neither hurting,
Nor fading,
And I let it in,
Give it a chance,
‘Cos that’s how I want to move on,
With you.
